Kwesi Pratt have called non factual, claims of Professor Ahwoi that young National Democratic Congress(NDC) members were brought in to ‘talk back’ at their founder…
In the book of Professor Ahwoi, ‘Working With Rawlings’ he purported that certain young NDC members like Omane Boamah, Okudzeto Ablakwaand and others were recruited so they ‘talk back’ to Jerry John Rawlings.
According to the Chief Editor of Insight news paper it isn’t so because he personally recruited Omane Boamah.
Speaking on Pan-African TV he said;
“Omane Boamah for example was recruited by me and I can tell you the story today.”
“When we formed the Committee for Joint Action and we were going to hold our first Press Conference, we had to decide on who to read that statement.”
“I made a point at the meeting that Omane Boamah is quite an articulate young man and that he was the President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), he was a card bearing member of the New Patriotic Party but had problems with the government on account of GetFund and that if you could get him to read that thing it gives us a broad National appeal.
“It took about two days to trace Omane Boamah to come and read that statement.
“So, the first Press Conference statement was read by Omane Boamah. That’s how Omane Boamah joined the CJA and eventually became an activist of the National Democratic Congress. I know him very well.”
