Osafo-Maafo speaks on “his support” of ‘Alan Cash’ over Bawumia

Yaw Osafo-Maafo, Senior Presidential Advisor to Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has finally opened up about the alleged support of longtime New Patriotic Party (NPP)Presidential hopefully, Alan Kyeremanteng over the vice President Dr Bawumia…

In a viral message that has been purported to be from the Presidential Staffer, the NPP veteran was alleged to have said;

Bawumia has done a lot for the NPP and I acknowledge that but the NPP rewards long service. Therefore, I support Alan Kyerematen to lead NPP into the 2024 elections.

In an official communique from the office of Yaw Osafo-Maafo, he hasn’t made any such statements and the viral message should be disregarded as such.

The Office of the Senior Presidential Advisor registers its dismay and disappointment to a Social media circulation purported to indicate Hon. Osafo-Maafo’s support for Hon. Kwadwo Alan Keyeremanten, Minister for Trade and Industry, as against that of H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana in the next perceived presidential flagbearership race of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Hon. Osafo-Maafo has never uttered such irresponsible, misguided, tribalistic and ethnocentric statement either in public or private, directly or indirectly and has no cause to do so,” excerpts from the statement read.

Alan Kyeremanteng, Trades and Industry Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto, Minister for Food and Agriculture and naturally, the vice president Dr Bawumia are some of the NPP bigwigs who’ve expressed interest in taking over the mantle.
