I accepted Supreme Court verdict because of peace – Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress’s Presidential candidate has reiterated once again, how he feels about the 2020 elections and it’s subsequent Supreme Court hearing and decision…

In the unflinching opinion of the former President, how the Electoral Commission(EC) went about the 2020 General Elections left much to be desired.

According to him, the Supreme Court petition on the election was not much better either because the verdict had already been predetermined to be in favor of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP)

The NDC’s flag bearer says he only accepted defeat for the sake of peace and stability in the country.

Because we wanted peace in the country, we accepted the Supreme Courtโ€™s ruling. If you look at how the judgment was delivered, it was not according to the rights and freedoms of Ghanaโ€™s constitution. You could see that the court had predetermined the decision it was going to take over the matter”ย  -He told Cape FM in the Central Region

In the words of the opposition leader, the 2020 elections remains “one of the worse organized in this country since 1992.โ€

The above proclamations were made during his ‘Thank You Tour’ in the Central Region over the week days.
