Ghanaians who owe water bill not part of Nana Addo’s free water – GWCL

The Ghana Water Company Limited(GWCL) has disclosed the timeline for the free water supply mentioned in the budget review…

The free supply of water is to be rolled out for 3 months,  ending in September, meaning July is included even though it was announced on the 23rd of July.

Landlords as well as those who sell water have been entreated to allow tenants use water for free for the months of July,  August and September.

“All metered stand-pipes on category 643 shall be used to serve citizens for free. Vendors are expected to still control the services to the public as usual. This is to ensure the prudent use of water.”

Tho the water is to be free, people who still owes the GWCL have been exempted from the free water and are expected to report to GWCL officers to negotiate how they’ll pay their outstanding bills.

This comes after the President gave free water and electricity supply in April after the lockdown was implemented and the hardships it brought.
